Can I write a book before Druid Camp?

Published: Tue, 01/26/16

Hi

It has been a few days since my last post. Sorry about that, I have been getting my next member’s newsletter out. In this edition I go into some detail about expressing the principles of Stav using the three lines of the Hagl rune and expanding from there. I found myself having some interesting ideas while I was ill and it was nice to have time to explore my thoughts. Took a while to type up though.

I have also been updating my websites to cover some of the training opportunities for this coming year. This includes quite a long article about self-defence and its place in civilised society on my personal page.

See end of this message for links.

Talking of writing, I have found a publishers which may be interested in a book on Stav. As well as full length books this company also publishes short, introductory texts to various subjects. These are less than 25,000 words long, 80 to 100 pages depending upon format and number of illustrations. 25,000 words is not really all that much to a professional author. Even my newsletter just published ran to 5000 words. I also know that writing that much straight off is going to be quite a challenge for me at present. So how could I write a 25,000 word introductory book on Stav?

You can probably see where this is going.

I have listed 25 topics which I could write about as emails up to 1000 words long. I don’t think I can manage all 25 consecutively but even if I only manage three a week it would only take me about two months to write. At best it would be great to have a published book ready for the Druid Camp in August and the Mercian Gathering in September. At worst I write 25 (hopefully) interesting and informative emails for you to read.

I would be very grateful for any support, encouragement, suggestions etc. during the process.

In the meantime, links as promised.
