Why not turn off your computer and do something real instead?

It is strange contradiction of the modern world that while most of
the population (certainly in the West) is connected to people all
over the world through email, face book etc it hasn't got any
easier to connect locally. I can connect with up to 250 people all
round the world whether on this email list or the facebook group,
and potentially thousands or even millions more through the
internet. Yet how many people have I actually managed to connect
with in Crewkerne regarding Stav and that includes opening a
training centre on the high street? Lets just say that I
haven't yet had double figures training in one week.
We have to remember that a lot of the time we are connected on a
very superficial level, real connection requires a lot more than
just clicking the button on a mouse. This evening the high street
will be closed for the Christmas lights to be turned on. There are
various fun and games going on. So there should be a lot of people
out and about on the streets. So Venetia and I will open the Stav
Centre, have a table in the porch and give out leaflets and invite
people to have a look inside if they want to. We are interested in
getting people to try training and share the space with other
teachers of suitable activities.
It could get a bit cold, I have no idea what kind of response we
will get, but that is okay. Stav is a real training system which
requires the whole person to be present and getting involved.
This evening we will be engaging the attention of the good people of
Crewkerne, the ones who live within walking distance of the Stav
Centre in many cases. For those who don't I will be teaching in
Mineappolis in May next year, see
http://iceandfire.us/events/index.html or if you would like to come
to Somerset in July there is the Summer Camp, three days with Ivar
and I am prepared to provide training for the first part of the week
here in Crewkerne if you would like to make the trip even more
worthwhile.
A bit harder than just looking at stuff online I know but life is
more than a computer screen, let reading this just be the start.
regards
Graham
