One thing at a time

Okay, I admit it, I have been neglecting quite a few things for the
past couple of weeks. That includes sending regular emails to my
list and the Facebook group. Sorry about that if you have been
missing them. What I have been doing is completely rewiring the
Stav Centre so that the electrician can come in and connect up the
new consumer unit to the meter. Once the electrics are signed off
I can complete some construction and paneling in and we will be
well on the way to having the place ready to encourage the public
to sign up for classes.
That isn't to say that I am not already holding classes, I have
taught a foundation class on Monday, an advanced weapons class last
night and I am expecting to teach again this evening. We had a day
course on Saturday too. So although we have been teaching at the
Stav Centre for over a year now I still have people asking me when
we are opening? It is fairly clear that the best advertising
locally will simply having the place looking open for business.
Yes, it is a lot of hard work, but it is nothing I can't do, or
get someone else to do if necessary such as connecting to the
metered supply. If I keep focused then the project will move onto
the next stage, but sometimes focus on one thing means ignoring
everything else for as long as it takes to get the job done. A
great source of failure is not being able to apply that focus when
necessary.
Stav training is like that too, once or twice a day, depending upon
whether you want to do your stances in one go or do them morning
and evening (my preference), a few minutes are focused on doing the
stances and perhaps some weapon training. During that few minutes
you are completely focused on stances and nothing else. This
develops a habit of focus which can be applied to any aspect of
life, including completing jobs like creating a Stav Centre. I
hope one day you will come and train there if you haven't done
already, it is going to be somewhere rather special, in fact to
quite a few of us it is already.
