The fun never stops
Published: Mon, 09/02/13
Well, here I am in Norfolk. I had a great weekend at the Mercian
Gathering, morning Stav sessions were not massively supported, no
women at all this year, but we had some fun with stances and some
basic self-defence. Thanks to Alex for his help with those sessions.
I think I will try something different next year, perhaps actually teaching one of the Galdre Stances sets and
leave out the martial arts altogether. You can never tell what is
going to appeal. My talk on religion in the 21st century seemed to
to down well, 12 people attended which was just right for a
discussion afterwards. I talked for 50 minutes and then we went on
for nearly another half an hour with questions and answers. At
some point I will write up my notes from the talk as an article.
But in the meantime I am here in Norfolk getting ready for Stav
Camp this week. We should have about 16 people training and
assisting. Ivar is coming for the weekend, we have a magnificent
venue, the weather is looking promising (although it won't ruin
anything if it does rain a bit) so I think we are going to have a
great time. I will try and post a report each day on how we are
getting on. I will also say that due to someone dropping out there
is still a space for another student even at this notice.
Will have to be a short message today since I need to get back out
to the barn and start putting the field kitchen together. However
if you are looking to put a date in your diary I am teaching at the
Noble Science course in November and that will be the last camp of
the year, if anyone is interested in supporting this one details
