That was wyrd

Hi
Did you notice my slip yesterday? Before I wrote yesterday's
post I had just uploaded the image representing As to a board on my
Pininterest account. So I was thinking As when I wrote
yesterday's post. Well that is one possible explanation. I
have also told people over the years that if you 'forget' a
rune and miss it out of a sequence then that is one of the ways
that the intuitive mind brings the rune to your attention. So it
is also possible that Thor is significant to me at the moment.

Thor is about protection and the fundamental meaning is thorn.
Thor as the Norse Deity is often depicted as huge, very strong,
armed with his deadly hammer Molinjor and always ready for a fight
with any enemy. You may like to imagine Thor looking out for you
like some invincible big brother always ready to take revenge on
your tormentors. However the thorn doesn't provide that kind
of protection. A thorny hedge can provide a degree of security by
being a deterrent to all but the most determined intruders. If
someone does try to force or cut their way through then the sheer
effort involved should mean that you notice and don't get
caught by surprise.

The real protection from the thorn is when it is turned towards you
and constantly reminds you of your vulnerability. It is possible
to achieve a state of believing your are invulnerable and we will
consider that situation in a few days time. Total safety is an
illusion and tends to make you very careless. A constant reminder
of our vulnerability through the regular pricking of the thorn
keeps us careful and sensible.

I did get two pieces of news yesterday which came after I had
posted yesterday's message. Both concerned deaths, one of
someone I was at school with who was finally released after a long
battle with MS and the other someone I knew slightly as a friend of
a friend who died in a motorcycle accident.

That kind of news pricks one into thinking about getting on with
life and realizing that time is short. So is that Thor protecting
me from avoiding moving forward in life? Or maybe it was just a
silly mistake.
