Two places gone already, grab yours soon

We had a good weekend here in Crewkerne and thanks to those who
came and took part. What is clear to me after twenty years of
training in Stav is that there is a basic paradox between the
objective, which is to learn to see the web and be able to act on
it and the means of getting there which is to practice and train in
the right way until this happens for you. Then one needs to find
the right practice to maintain this ability and keep developing it.
Right from the beginning Ivar said there are no techniques, only
principles. This is true, but you need training exercises which
enable one to understand and express those principles. So, for
example axe training is about three or four simple cuts which need
to be practised 100 times each two or three times a week. (Or
everyday if you are Ivar, but he does have more time than me.) I
have done my stances and I am typing this as I have my porridge and
then I have to set of to Bristol to work today. So apart from
doing the stances again that will be it for today as far as
training is concerned, but that is okay so long as I get another
session in before the end of the week which I will.
Stav is simple, but it does need to be learned right and practised
with some dedication. The problem is that even a whole day of
training such as we had on Saturday doesn't really provide the
opportunity to train in everything that is important. So I
organise a camp each year when we can go really deeply into
training and practice and you can take away what you need to
develop your own practice. Details for the 2013 camp at
http://www.stavcamp.org and we have a great venue for training and
practice. Sixteen places only and two of them have been taken
already!
