A window cleaner knows his ladders

This morning a window cleaner complimented us on our nice new three
section ladder with stabiliser bar and standoff. He was right too,
it is a rather hansom ladder which we bought a couple of weeks ago.
I was at the top of it repairing some guttering and the window
cleaner arrived to clean the windows in the next door house. You
would expect a window cleaner to know his ladders, after all it
must be one of his major tools together with a bucket and squeegee.
The gentleman I met this morning had a nice two section pointed
ladder with a rubb.
I am starting a new class in Crewkerne (where we live) next week
and I am trying to sort out the publicity to get local people
interested. This should be relatively easy but how do I tell
people what Stav is and why they should be doing it? I have
decided to make this class more self-defence and unarmed combat
orientated than my classes sometimes are so I have played up the
Geoff Thompson connection. I will teach the stances but I
haven't made much of that aspect and apart from that it is hard
to know what to say. The problem is that very few people are
interested in martial arts. Of those who are aware of martial arts
most tend to go for things they have heard of before for whatever
reason. Very few people have heard of Stav and, although Geoff
Thompson is very influential within some martial arts circles no
one I know who isn't into martial arts has heard of Geoff
either! I know he does have a wider following as a
motivational/self-help teacher but it is still pretty narrow in
terms of actual public awareness. So how much help the connection
with him will be in terms of publicity I have yet to see. That is
not to say that what I learned from him wasn't invaluable.
So I will have to see what actually happens when I get posters up
for people to see. Website is already in place at

Hopefully it looks terribly exiting to you, but since you are
getting this message you must already know about Stav so, like the
window cleaner admiring our ladder, you can appreciate what I am
